Privacy policy
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy describes which data we process on digital-toolbox.ch and for the «Digital Toolbox» newsletter.
Controller
Prof. Marc K. Peter, Hochfeldstrasse 17, 3012 Bern, Switzerland, hello@digitalprof.com.
Visiting the website
The website runs on a server in Switzerland (Infomaniak), operated by the aigency GmbH. When the website is accessed, the server stores technically necessary information such as IP address, time, page accessed and browser type in log files. These serve exclusively for secure operation and are deleted after a short time. We use no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools.
Newsletter
For the «Digital Toolbox» newsletter we process your e-mail address, optionally your name, the time of subscription, its origin (this website, the Digital Strategy Check or a downloaded PDF) and the language of the page. The newsletter is published in German and English, depending on the language of the page: from the German page you receive the German edition, from the English or French page the English edition. Via the form on this website you subscribe using the double opt-in procedure: you receive an e-mail with a confirmation link from digital-toolbox.ch (sent via Amazon Simple Email Service, Zurich data centre) and are only subscribed after confirming. People who complete the Digital Strategy Check in German or download a study or workshop template via the link sent to them also receive the newsletter.
- Subscriber data is stored in the self-hosted newsletter software listmonk on a server in Switzerland.
- To deliver the e-mails we use Amazon Simple Email Service in the Zurich data centre (Amazon Web Services). Amazon processes the data on our behalf.
- We record in aggregated form how often an issue is opened; individuals are not analysed.
- You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every issue. You can also delete your data yourself via the same link.
Studies and workshop templates by e-mail
If you request a study or a workshop template by e-mail, we use your e-mail address to send you a personal download link via Amazon Simple Email Service (Zurich data centre). The link is valid for 7 days and your address is encrypted in it. We do not store the request itself. If you download the PDF via the link, we add you to the newsletter as described above.
AI assistant «Ask the DigitalProf»
If you use the AI assistant, we transmit your question to Anthropic PBC in the USA, the provider of the language model Claude, to answer it. For subject questions, the assistant looks for matching passages in the publications of Prof. Marc K. Peter and transmits them together with the question. According to its terms, Anthropic does not use data transmitted via its API to train its models. We do not store your questions or the answers; only technical information such as time, response time and the recommended tools is logged. Please do not enter personal data or confidential information in the assistant.
Voice assistant
You start the voice assistant yourself; only then does your browser ask for the microphone. Your speech is transmitted in encrypted form to ElevenLabs (Eleven Labs Inc., USA), converted into text there, and the answer is played back as speech. The question itself is answered by the AI assistant as described above. With our settings, ElevenLabs stores neither recordings nor conversation transcripts; we only store technical information such as time, response time and the recommended tools.
Contact by e-mail
